The unique and ancient forests of Western Australia are in danger of catastrophic ecological collapse due to climate change. A prolonged dry and high temperatures have exacted a heavy toll on the woodlands, forests and coastal heath that make up one of the world’s top biodiversity hotspots. These forests are drying and dying. They are among the first in the world to show the widescale browning and bleaching effects of climate change on forest ecosystems.
